Our Dear Brethren:
June had the feel of a “normal” month at Suwanee. We are meeting and conducting all Worship Services and Bible Studies as previous to the pandemic. This has us moving quickly on our Goals and Plans for the balance of 2021. Visitors are making their way to the Lakes region. We are always encouraged by those who we consider “regular” visitors. There is one family that is talking of moving to the area as well.
We have firmed up our meeting with Lee Forsythe (August 8th - 11th - Sunday through Wednesday). Flyers are done and being mailed out to local congregations next week. Brethren have already been busy inviting folks in our community to be with us.
The men have decided to move forward with the parking lot repairs. We hope to have this done in time for the meeting.
We have also restarted our Monthly Evangelism Training on the second Sunday night of each month. This is conducted as a class in the auditorium after we close our Sunday night Worship Service. We will review goals, visitation groups, and memory work. Much of the time will be “reminding” our members of our commitments to grow.
I am thankful that the widow I mentioned last month has improved her circumstances greatly. We are all doing what we can to help ease her burdens.
I plan on presenting a lesson in July on “Caring for Widows and Orphans In Their Distress.” I consider the opportunities in this area to be a great blessing to our members. The sense of the lesson will be to remind them how God has always been concerned about the care of widows and orphans and the personal responsibility of members to step up and not grow weary!!
In June lessons included the balance of lessons based on John 14:6-7, “Jesus the Way (overview)”; Jesus the ONLY Way to a Eternal Life”; “Jesus the Only Way Out of Religious Confusion” as well as lessons on “Deathbed Confessions?” and the “Divine Strength” and “The Greatest of These is Love – Why?” – I also began a new series as well on “A CLOSER WALK WITH GOD… and delivered first lesson “Are You A Disciple?” - -all these and many more can be viewed online at God’s Truth Without Walls – Facebook and YouTube.
Doug’s son (my nephew) in Maryland continues to view the sermons on-line. Doug’s widow in Vegas is also viewing the lessons. I started sending the Bulletin to both of them. They are both staying in touch. I am also thankful to let you know my aunt in California is viewing the lessons (she is strong in her Catholic beliefs). She is making positive comments, but no questions. I am trying to plan a trip for early 2022 to visit and study with her.
The Wednesday night study continues in Hebrews chapter 11 and FAITH. Sunday Morning Studies are in First Timothy. We are now in I Timothy 3:8-11 and deacons. The reasons we are “lacking” elders and deacons are varied. One of our long-term goals is to continue this focus on the elders and deacons with prayer and studies that one day we hope to be blessed with qualified shepherds and
deacons for this flock. Please pray for us in this regard as we truly “need” the leadership.
